"I love the Pre-School and the dedicated staff
who put so much into caring for the children."
Meet the team
I started as the manager here in 2016, but I’ve been involved with the pre-school since the 1990s, when my children attended.
My first career was as a civil servant, working mainly in human resources. After a career break, I worked in an assistant role at Charlbury Pre-School and I’ve never looked back!
I hold a Level-3 Diploma in Children’s Care, Learning and Development, and have done lots of additional training, for example in:
I have been associated with the pre-school since 1994, first as an unpaid helper, then as a paid assistant.
I gained a Level-3 Diploma in Children’s Care, Learning and Development longer ago than I care to remember.
I am currently the deputy manager and SENCO (Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator).
My specialist EYFS curriculum areas are personal, social and emotional development, and understanding of the world.
Charlbury Pre-School and I go back to 2010, when my eldest daughter attended the setting. I enjoyed doing parent rota so much that I ended up volunteering on days when my daughter wasn’t even here.
In 2013 I was encouraged by the then manager to become a member of staff and I haven’t looked back.
My specialist area is physical development. I love organising events and I liaise with the parent committee about fundraising.
I have worked in early years education since 2012, starting at my children’s pre-school in Eynsham after having an 8-year break to be a stay-at-home mum to my three children.
I starting working at Charlbury Pre-School in 2017, and love the busy, creative setting and beautiful outside space. My area of learning is expressive arts and design. I enjoy supporting the children as they explore different resources and media, and seeing their ideas come to life.
Outside work I like to run, swim, walk our dog and spend time by the sea.
I first became involved with the pre-school as a parent, back in 2002 and for three years, I was a member of a fundraising team which saw the birth of events that we still do today.
In 2005, I was delighted to become the pre-school’s Bursar/Administrator, carrying out finance and admin tasks, and supporting the dedicated volunteer management team.
I have always felt very privileged to be a part of this wonderful charity, that not only touches the lives of so many families within the community, but also helps to keep this beautiful building alive.
I have been working at the pre-school since February 2018. I have worked with children in other settings for a number of years. I am interested in outdoor learning and imaginative play, and I have experience in teaching drama, dance and music.
