"We really value the attention the Pre-School staff
pay to the children’s cognitive development."
Who runs the pre-school
We’re a charity, run by a dedicated team of fully qualified staff and managed by a committee of parent volunteers.
A qualified Session Leader is in charge of each
Depending on the numbers and ages of the children each day, up to three assistants will be
As most staff work part-time, you will see different combinations of staff on duty each day. Their days of work stay the same throughout the year, making sure your child can form strong emotional bonds.
Each child has their own key person, a member of staff who oversees their progress and keeps detailed records of their abilities mapped against the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum.
The key person keeps in touch with parents about their child’s development and organises regular meetings to review their progress.
You can read more about the Key person system here.
Our administrator, Ann Hoyle, is responsible for government funding, invoicing and finance.
We are a registered charity (No. 273783) and the pre-school manager, Chris Weston, reports to a management committee made up of volunteer parents.
The committee members are also the charity’s trustees.
All parents/guardians of children who attend
pre-school have family membership. Each family counts as one member of the pre-school and is entitled to one vote at any General Meeting.
We encourage parents to be actively involved by joining the committee and having a say in how we run the pre-school. The names of current committee members are on the wall at the pre-school, or you can email us on email@example.com
We’re always happy to talk to parents.
Our ‘parent rota’ system makes parents another essential part of our team. Children learn better when their parents are involved and doing rota means parents get to see how we run the sessions and how their child is doing. You can read more about our parent rota system are here.
